The freshly acquired Sparks point guard put on a show Sunday night after scoring 28 points in LA’s 91-78 win over the Sky. And it wasn’t without drama after she gave Angel Reese the “too small” celebration.
Midway through the second half, however, Plum took an elbow from Kia Nurse on a foul that officials reviewed but ultimately let stand. Instead of flinching, Plum brushed it off, demanded to take any free throws, carried on cooking her opponents, and amped up the crowd of 11,422 roaring fans at Crypto.com Arena.

“I don’t give a damn about the points. I’m here to win,” she told reporters after the game. “I’ve been on a mission since I came out of the womb.”
Plum hit six of her 10 threes, falling one short of her career-high when she drained seven against the Phoenix Mercury last season. The Sparks guard has made at least six three-pointers in a game six times in her WNBA career.
Plum was a perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line and dished out eight assists. It was the second-highest-scoring performance of the earl season following the record-setting 37-point performance she dropped on the expansion Golden State Valkyries on opening night.

The Sparks fed off Plum’s energy, and forward Azura Stevens added 24 points along with eight boards and three assists. Dearica Hamby added a near triple-double line with 10 points, eight assists, and six rebounds. Reese led the Sky with 13 points on 45 percent shooting but was held in check most of the night, only adding two points in the fourth quarter.

Plum has led the franchise in points, assists, and steals this season and has been the Spark’s top scorer during both of their victories. She currently leads the entire WNBA in 3-point field goals (13), tied with Allisha Gray and ahead of Caitlin Clark, as well as in minutes per game (37.8) and steals (12).
After snapping a three-game losing streak against the Lynx, Mercury, and Valkyries in a rematch, the Sparks aim to maintain their momentum during Tuesday night’s matchup against the Atlanta Dream. LA finds itself out of playoff contention early in the season after just five games, following missing last year’s playoffs with a league-worst record of 8-32.
