The Chicago Bears lost key receivers this offseason.
But one undrafted player might already be ready to step up.

Bears’ Undrafted Rookie Jahdae Walker Could Break Out in 2026
The Chicago Bears are searching for answers at wide receiver after a major shake-up to their offense.
Following the trade of DJ Moore and the departure of Olamide Zaccheaus in free agency, Chicago suddenly has a major opening at the WR3 and slot receiver position.
And one unexpected candidate may be ready to take the job.

According to reports, Jahdae Walker, an undrafted rookie from the 2025 class, could be in line for a breakout season in 2026.
Strong Finish to 2025
Walker quickly became a fan favorite during training camp last year.
The former Texas A&M wide receiver impressed coaches with his playmaking ability and earned a roster spot after scoring two game-winning touchdowns during preseason games.

While his role was limited during the regular season, he made the most of his opportunities.
In nine games, Walker recorded:
- 6 receptions
- 87 receiving yards
- 2 touchdowns
- 4 first-down catches
Big Moment vs. the Packers
Walker’s biggest moment came late in the season against the Green Bay Packers.
With starting receiver Rome Odunze sidelined by injury, Walker stepped into a larger role.

Late in the fourth quarter, Caleb Williams connected with Walker for a game-tying touchdown, sending the game into overtime.
Chicago eventually won 22–16, with Williams throwing the winning touchdown in the extra period.
The play gave coaches confidence that Walker could handle bigger responsibilities.
Opportunity Opens in 2026
Chicago’s receiver depth chart is now thinner than it was a year ago.
The top two spots appear locked in with:
- Rome Odunze
- Luther Burden
But the slot receiver position remains wide open.

Chicago Tribune insider Brad Biggs suggested the team may already feel comfortable giving Walker a chance.
“They ended the season feeling pretty good about him,” Biggs said during a radio appearance.
Competition Still Possible
The Bears could still add another receiver through the NFL Draft or free agency.
However, Walker has already shown flashes of potential and could become a valuable option in the slot.
His speed, ability to move the chains, and chemistry with Caleb Williams give him a legitimate chance to win the job.
A Potential Breakout Season
For a player who entered the league as an undrafted rookie, Walker has already exceeded expectations.
Now, with an expanded opportunity in the Bears offense, he could be one of Chicago’s biggest breakout players in 2026.

If he continues to develop and earns a consistent role, the Bears may have found a hidden gem.
