According to NFL insider Jonathan Jones, the Chiefs are not expected to pursue veteran star Mike Evans, even as the longtime Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver prepares to enter free agency.
“Tampa Bay receiver Mike Evans is set to hit free agency next week, and there is a real chance he will take his talents elsewhere,” Jones reported. “It is still early, but Houston and Kansas City don’t seem to be in on Evans.”
For a team often looking to surround Patrick Mahomes with elite weapons, the decision has raised eyebrows across the league.
A Superstar Receiver Hitting the Market
Evans is widely regarded as one of the most consistent wide receivers of his generation.
During his long tenure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he became a cornerstone of the franchise’s offense and played a key role in the team’s Super Bowl championship run.
