Three straight minutes. A full bucket. Zero hesitation.
Cardi B just turned late-night Instagram Live into the internet’s most chaotic hydration debate.

Cardi B Eats Bucket of Ice for 3 Minutes on IG Live — Says It’s Like “Drinking 6 Bottles of Water”
Cardi B doesn’t do anything halfway — not even hydration.
In the early hours of Feb. 26, the Grammy-winning rapper hopped on Instagram Live and casually ate ice from a silver bucket for three minutes straight, telling fans she considers it the equivalent of “drinking six bottles of water.”
Yes. Six.

The livestream began innocently enough. Cardi, 33, was preparing a late-night cup of Buldak ramen — complete with milk and cheese — while chatting about her ongoing Little Miss Drama Tour. But the real show started when she began scooping large chunks of ice into her mouth between bites.
At one point, she paused to admit she was feeling “a little brain freeze.”
But she didn’t stop.
“I feel like there’s benefits to it,” Cardi said of her ice habit. “The way that I eat ice, I see it as equivalent [to] drinking six bottles of water a day — probably more.”
She even quantified it.

“In a day I probably eat five large cups of Chick-fil-A ice,” she added. “Sometimes maybe more.”
That’s not a snack. That’s a lifestyle.
Cardi revealed someone recently confronted her about having an “ice addiction,” and she admitted the habit has intensified over the years.
“I feel like it’s gotten worse,” she said, noting that sometimes the constant ice chewing makes her chest feel “a little bit tight” due to her asthma.
There’s a common belief that excessive ice chewing can signal anemia — something Cardi addressed head-on.
“They say that you eat a lot of ice when you’re anemic, but I’m not anemic,” she insisted. “I get blood tested all the time.”

Still, the internet immediately lit up with speculation and concern.
The ice binge came after Cardi admitted she’d been battling a bad stomach ache the night before a tour stop in Sacramento. She said she took “like five showers” and even a bath trying to soothe it — but still found herself eating ramen on the road because she didn’t have her usual support system.
“Who’s gonna cook healthy for me? I don’t have my mommy or my chef,” she joked.
To be fair, she wasn’t relying on ice alone for hydration. During the stream, she also sipped from an electrolyte drink to recover.
And she’s not alone in the frozen-snack fandom.
Remy Ma once revealed she cracked a veneer chewing ice, and Coco Jones previously admitted her doctor linked her ice cravings to iron deficiency.

But only Cardi could turn it into a full-blown midnight performance.
Bucket in hand. Brain freeze mid-sentence. Millions watching.
It wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t filtered.
It was peak Cardi.

And now the internet is split between asking if ice really counts as hydration — and wondering how she didn’t crack a tooth.
