When Cam talks about fashion, it’s impossible not to be swept up in her passion—and her story is as colorful and intricate as the gowns she dreams of designing. Born half Filipino and half Black, Cam’s first runway wasn’t in Paris or New York—it was sitting on her grandmother’s lap, sewing tiny beads and stitches into elaborate wedding dresses in the Philippines. Her grandmother, a seasoned designer, taught her the art of fabric, fiber, and flair from the youngest age. “Chores for me weren’t regular chores,” Cam recalls with a laugh. “It was sew this, bead that, make something beautiful.”
Yet, the road to fashion glory wasn’t linear. Cam admits she resisted the needle and thread at times, even questioning if it was truly her path. Alongside her love for design, she juggled a high school basketball career, proving she could dominate both the court and the creative world.
Today, her travel diary reads like a fashion week bucket list: Paris, Milan, New York, London, Dubai. Paris, she says, remains her favorite—a city where couture and artistry collide in the most breathtaking ways. Milan, by contrast, leans heavily into runway exclusivity, showcasing gowns that never reach store racks, a glimpse of fashion at its most aspirational.

Wedding dresses, however, remain closest to her heart. Cam hasn’t designed her own yet, but she crafted her mother’s wedding dress, a memory she cherishes. Looking ahead, she’s drawn to designers like Vera Wang and Ralph Lauren, dreaming of a gown that’s both timeless and attention-grabbing, an off-white masterpiece with a twist, possibly even venturing into bold colors like navy—or, for the daring, black. “I want it to stand out,” she confesses. “Something classy, but unforgettable.”
Details are equally important: flowers, textures, and even the bridesmaids’ ensembles are part of her vision. She’s enchanted by hydrangeas and mossy greens cascading along tables, creating a tactile, organic elegance for a wedding at Stanford’s campus in Northern California. For Cam, fashion and life are inseparable—the artistry she grew up with, the travel that inspires her, and the wedding of her dreams all converge into a narrative that’s as personal as it is aspirational.
And through it all, there’s humor, humility, and a touch of chaos—because, as Cam proves, great style often comes with a bit of unpredictability. From childhood sewing sessions to globetrotting couture, Cam’s story reminds us that the most beautiful creations are often born from a mix of heritage, passion, and fearless imagination.
