The Raiders just made one of the boldest moves of the NFL offseason.
And their new star lineman already has a message for head coach Klint Kubiak.

Tyler Linderbaum Sends Clear Message to Raiders Coach Klint Kubiak After Record Signing
LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Raiders made a massive statement in free agency when they handed center Tyler Linderbaum a historic contract.
And the Pro Bowl offensive lineman didn’t waste any time making his intentions clear.
At his introductory press conference, Linderbaum delivered a confident message about his future with the Raiders — and his excitement about playing in Klint Kubiak’s offensive system.
“Coach Kubiak, I’m excited about what he’s going to build here,” Linderbaum said. “It’s something that I think will fit my play, and the whole organization is heading in the right direction. That’s something I want to be a part of.”
For a franchise entering a new era, the message carried weight.
Raiders Bet Big on Linderbaum

The Raiders targeted Linderbaum as one of the most important free agents on the market.
Widely regarded as one of the NFL’s best centers, he became a cornerstone of Las Vegas’ offseason plan.
Despite concerns about salary cap space following the collapsed Maxx Crosby trade to the Baltimore Ravens, the Raiders still moved forward with several major signings — with Linderbaum at the center of it all.
The aggressive investment shows just how critical the team believes he will be to the offense moving forward.
A Perfect Fit for Kubiak’s System
One major reason the Raiders pursued Linderbaum so aggressively is how well he fits Klint Kubiak’s offensive philosophy.

Kubiak’s system places enormous responsibility on the center position, particularly in:
- Managing pre-snap protections
- Coordinating offensive line adjustments
- Leading zone-based running schemes
Linderbaum excels in exactly those areas.
His football IQ, athleticism, and mobility make him an ideal player for the type of offense Kubiak wants to run.
Analysts have also noted that his presence could be crucial for helping develop the Raiders’ expected No. 1 overall draft pick, quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
A smart and reliable center often plays a key role in helping young quarterbacks transition into the NFL.
The Offensive Line Still Needs Help

While Linderbaum’s arrival is a major step forward, the Raiders’ offensive line remains a work in progress.
Current projections suggest the lineup could look something like this:
- LT: Kolton Miller
- C: Tyler Linderbaum
- RG: Jackson Powers-Johnson
But other positions remain unsettled.
DJ Glaze could compete for the right tackle job, and the team still needs to identify a starting left guard.
The Raiders originally expected to have additional draft capital after the proposed Crosby trade with Baltimore. With that deal falling apart, their options are now more complicated.
Because of tighter salary cap flexibility, it’s unlikely the Raiders will pursue more major free-agent signings.

Instead, they may rely on the NFL Draft to fill the remaining gaps.
A New Offensive Foundation
Despite those challenges, the Raiders believe the Linderbaum signing is a major step toward building a more stable offense.
A dominant center can transform an entire offensive line — improving both the running game and pass protection.

For a team preparing to welcome a franchise quarterback in the upcoming draft, that foundation could be crucial.
And judging by Linderbaum’s message, he’s ready to help lead the transformation.
