Seth Meyers‘ son is owning his entire personality.
On a recent episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the late-night host, 51, shared that his son was told to describe his personality in three words. Meyers said that his son “nailed it” when describing himself even though one of the words was “not that positive.”
“The other day at school, they said, ‘What are three words to describe you?’ And my son said, ‘strong, fibber…’ ” he said, adding that he interrupted his son to ask what he meant by that. “I go, ‘Fibber? What is a fibber?’ He’s like, ‘Tell fibs.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah.’ “
Meyers added, “And then I’m like, ‘What’s the last one?’ He’s like, ‘Delightful.’ I’m like, “God, you kind of nailed it, buddy.’ I’m like, ‘I like that you owned [it.] The middle one’s kind of not that positive.’ “
The Saturday Night Live alum and his wife, Alexi Ashe, tied the knot in September 2013. The couple welcomed their first child together, son Ashe Olson, three years later. In 2018, the pair expanded their family with the birth of their second son, Axel Strahl. In 2021, their family grew once again with the birth of their daughter, Adelaide Ruth.
According to the doting dad, fatherhood has turned out even better than he expected. “I had really high hopes for it [and] it’s matched them,” he told The New York Times in February 2019. “I was so close to my father as a child, and I hoped it to be true for me and my boys, and it has been so far.”
The comedian went on to say that despite all of his professional achievements, being a dad gives him the greatest joy. “When I leave for work in the morning, my son gives me a running hug,” he said. “So I walk out the door and even though I have this whole wonderful day ahead of me, I know for a fact that I’ve already had the best part of my day. And that, I guess, is kind of surprising.”

Meyer’s children, meanwhile, aren’t fazed by his stardom.
While speaking with Paradise actor Sterling K. Brown on a January episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host shared a story about how his son once muted the cab television after a clip of his talk show came on.
“We were in a taxi TV, and they had a clip of my show, and my son reached over and just pressed mute,” Meyers said. “He’s like, ‘I get enough of this … yapping at home. Can I please enjoy my taxi ride?’ “
Brown, 49, joked that the move was “cold-blooded.” Meyers agreed, adding, “I live with three little assassins.”
