Matarazzo was the first to step out of Hawkins and into The Tonight Show’s studio. Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson, appeared on the Oct. 22 episode, where he spoke about the last season of the science fiction series.
While playing a game that ultimately revealed who he would rescue from the Upside Down, Matarazzo chose Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn.

The cast appearing on The Tonight Show is a full-circle moment, as their first appearance came after the premiere of Stranger Things‘ debut season nearly a decade ago.

Volume 1 of Stranger Things’ highly anticipated final season will premiere on Nov. 26 on Netflix. Volume 2 drops on Dec. 25, while Volume 3 ends it all on Dec. 31.
In the upcoming season, the Hawkins heroes are on the hunt for Vecna, the show’s antagonist.
“Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding,” reads the official plot synopsis. “As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”

“It’s given me the most amazing people in my life to call up when I need them most, and that’s my family,” she said.
“I’m so honored and blessed to have been a part of this show for so many years, and for my childhood to have been recorded,” she added. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Stranger Things season 5 premieres with volume 1 on Nov. 26, volume 2 on Dec. 25, and the finale on Dec. 31.
