The Los Angeles Sparks take on the Chicago Sky on Sunday, May 25 at Crypto.com Arena. The Sparks will head into the game on the back of a 82-73 loss to the Golden State Valkyries. On the other hand, the Chicago Sky went down against the reigning champions, New York Liberty, 99-74 in the last game. Both teams will aim to turn around the results of their previous defeats.
The LA Sparks kicked off the season by taking down the Valkyries in a blowout fashion, with a scoreline of 84-67. However, they failed to keep up the momentum and suffered three back-to-back losses following the game. While they have Kelsey Plum and Dearica Hamby scoring for them, the Sparks are finding it difficult to shape up their roster. Moreover, the absence of Cameron Brink has immensely affected their defense.
On the other hand, the Sky suffered two blowouts to begin their season by a combined 60 points, recording the worst point differential in WNBA history to start a season. The team that finished tenth in the previous season, is knee-deep in being able to find rhythm in the ongoing season. Pressure is mounting on them, and they would aim to find a way to get themselves back on track.
However, this might also be another long night for the Sky and things might get even more challenging for them due to the possible absence of one of their star players. As Sparks and Sky aim to end their losing streak and hope for things to get better, let’s see which players have been listed on their injury report.
