Wilson acknowledged that the relationship is very real, very intentional and, most importantly, very difficult as two franchise players try to build a life on overlapping but unpredictable schedules. When Roberts referred to Adebayo as “boyfriend Bam” and pointed out how visible he has been at her games, she also mentioned the difficulty of maintaining their bond.

“It’s just what we do,” she said. “I think that’s our foundation that we just built when our relationship first started. This isnât gonna be easy with our schedules and our lifestyle. But at the end of the day, if we want it to work, we’re gonna make it work for each other.”
Wilson emphasized that they see everything the public doesn’t, including the behind-the-scenes highs, lows and recovery days that aren’t flashy, unlike the locker room celebrations and parades from winning. They also endure a similar emotional weight of competing at their level for their respective professional franchises.
She described Adebayo as “perfect” in her eyes and praised his support, saying the way he shows up for her is what made her realize she “met her match.”
