Could Arsenalās next defensive superstar already be in the making? One young Spaniard says heās learning from the very best ā and the Premier League is watching closely.
Cristhian Mosquera Opens Up: Gabriel and Saliba Are Like āOlder Siblingsā at Arsenal

When 21-year-old Cristhian Mosquera made the bold move from his hometown club Valencia to the Premier League giants Arsenal last summer, few could have predicted how quickly heād adapt. But 25 appearances later, and a senior debut for Spain, itās clear the teenager isnāt just surviving ā heās thriving.
āIt wasnāt easy to leave Valencia. It had been my home for basically my entire life,ā Mosquera admitted to Europa Press. āBut moving to Arsenal was the right decision. Iāve settled in London faster than I expected. The Premier League is physically demanding, but I always knew I could handle it ā many people told me my style would suit it perfectly. And now, when the time came to prove myself, I did.ā

Mosqueraās rapid rise hasnāt gone unnoticed. Training alongside Arsenalās defensive powerhouses ā Brazilās Gabriel MagalhĆ£es and Franceās William Saliba ā has been an eye-opening experience.
āFrom day one, Gabriel and William have looked after me like older siblings,ā Mosquera said. āThey give advice, protect you on and off the pitch, and theyāre two of the best centre-backs in the world. Watching them every weekend is a privilege.ā
The young Spaniardās arrival couldnāt have been timelier for Arsenal, who are storming ahead in the Premier League. Even after their Carabao Cup heartbreak against Manchester City earlier this month, Mikel Artetaās side remains nine points clear at the top ā though Pep Guardiolaās men have a game in hand.

Looking ahead, Arsenal have an exciting spring schedule: an FA Cup quarterfinal clash against Southampton on April 4 and a Champions League quarterfinal showdown with Sporting Lisbon. Mosquera is clear-eyed about the stakes:
āIn recent years, Arsenal hasnāt always hit its targets, but this season feels different. We have the chance to win titles, and weāre going to fight for every fan. The Champions League is exciting, and weāre in the quarter-finals now ā hopefully, we can go even further and lift the trophy.ā
And Mosqueraās ambitions donāt stop at club level. After making his senior Spain debut in the 3-0 win over Serbia, heās already dreaming of the 2026 World Cup.

āWhat Iām going through is crazy, and I want to make the most of it,ā he said. āOnly God knows if Iāll make the squad, but every player dreams of representing his country on that stage.ā
From leaving home to becoming a rising star in one of the worldās toughest leagues, Mosqueraās journey is one fans and pundits alike will be watching closely. Arsenalās next defensive legend might just be starting to write his story ā and the Premier League is his stage.
