Maxx Crosby might be the most explosive name on the 2026 trade market.
And now two ESPN voices are telling the Rams: donāt think twice ā just do it.

The NFL offseason hasnāt even fully ignited, and already the rumor mill is spinning around one of footballās most relentless pass rushers.
Las Vegas Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby is reportedly unhappy. League insiders expect teams to test the Raidersā resolve with aggressive trade offers. And the price tag? Potentially massive ā anywhere from one first-round pick to multiple firsts, possibly stretching across years.
For most teams, that kind of cost sparks hesitation.
For the Los Angeles Rams? Some believe it should spark action.
āGo Trade for Maxx Crosby.ā
That wasnāt a fan fantasy. That was ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky speaking bluntly.

On ESPN LA, Orlovsky made his stance crystal clear: the Rams are close ā dangerously close ā to being a Super Bowl team again. In his view, theyāre one defensive difference-maker away.
āThis is a Super Bowl football team,ā Orlovsky said. āYou are a player away on the defensive side, a difference maker from being better than Seattle.ā
Then he doubled down.
āIf you take Maxx Crosby and you put him with Byron Young, Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske and Poona Ford, now weāve got a defensive line that you could look to Seattle and be like, āHey, weāre just as good, if not better, than yours.āā
Thatās not subtle analysis.

Thatās a challenge.
The Price of Aggression
Hereās the catch: Crosby wonāt come cheap.
Speculation suggests it could take at least two first-round picks ā possibly Nos. 13 and 29 this year ā or a combination of those with future firsts. NFL insider Peter Schrager went even further, calling a potential Rams trade for Crosby āan absolute no-brainerā while estimating it might cost as many as three first-round picks.
Three.
Thatās the kind of move that reshapes a franchiseās trajectory overnight.
But if thereās a general manager who isnāt afraid of bold swings, itās Les Snead. This is the same architect who once moved premium draft capital to stack stars and chase a championship window.
The Ramsā philosophy has rarely been conservative.
Why Crosby Changes Everything
Crosby isnāt just another pass rusher.

Across seven seasons, heās racked up 69.5 sacks and established himself as one of the NFLās most relentless disruptors. Heās durable, consistently productive, and still just 29 before the 2026 season kicks off.
Pairing him with the Ramsā emerging defensive core would create a front capable of overwhelming even elite offensive lines. The Seahawksā defensive dominance in the NFC West wouldnāt look so intimidating if Crosby lined up in Los Angeles blue and gold.

The argument isnāt about need ā the Rams arenāt desperate at edge.
Itās about dominance.
Add Crosby, and suddenly opposing quarterbacks donāt just game-plan. They panic.
Risk vs. Window
There is risk. The Ramsā long-term quarterback future remains uncertain. Trading multiple first-round picks limits flexibility. And Crosby would join a defensive line thatās already talented, raising questions about redundancy.
But championship windows donāt stay open forever.
Orlovsky brushed off concerns about the future quarterback situation. āThat doesnāt matter,ā he said. āGo trade for Maxx Crosby.ā

Thatās the mentality of a team chasing rings, not rebuilding patiently.
If Crosby truly becomes available ā and if the Raiders are willing to listen ā the Rams will face a defining decision: protect their draft capital, or push their chips into the center of the table.
Because if two ESPN voices are right, this isnāt just a trade.
Itās a potential Super Bowl swing.
