Jimmy Fallon didn’t shy away from the disturbing release of alleged emails from Jeffrey Epstein that explicitly name Donald Trump on The Tonight Show.
On November 12th, Epstein’s alleged email correspondences were released, and included mention of Trump. Jimmy Fallon touched upon this in his monologue, noting that the President of the United States is most definitely “stressed” at the news right now.
He began the jab at Trump by recalling the government’s recent decision to end the record-breaking governmental shutdown.
The comedian joked that anyone hoping to avoid plane travel for Thanksgiving because of the government shutdown is probably disappointed now that they have no reason to remain at home.
However, he then claimed that Trump is probably the most mortified that the shutdown is over, due to the email release. “Trump heard and was like ‘Bring back the shutdown! Bring it back! Let’s bring it — shut it down, another couple weeks,’” Fallon said in a mocking tone.
He continued, “Yep, as we speak, Trump’s more stressed than the air traffic controller at Newark airport.”
Recently, Trump hosted a dinner for Wall Street CEOs. Fallon wondered at the success of this evening: “During dinner, Trump was like ‘Who wants to watch anything except the news? What do you think?’” Fallon joked.
In the episode prior, Fallon made another jab at Trump. He referenced the arctic wind blowing through much of America, plummeting temperatures. He said, “So cold in Washington, Trump’s new ballroom shriveled up into the White House.”
In September, Fallon expressed support for Jimmy Kimmel after his brief suspension, calling him a “decent, funny and loving guy”. At the time of the ABC shutdown, he shared earnestly that he hoped the show would return. Kimmel is now back on air, despite the public heat from Trump.
