Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) announced Friday that she will resign from Congress after her falling out with President Trump.
āI will be resigning from office with my last day being January 5, 2026,ā Greene said in a lengthy statement.

Greeneās shock announcement comes exactly a week after Trump withdrew his āsupport and endorsementā of the congresswoman amid her demands that the administration release documents related to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump fumed that despite his āRecord Achievements for our Country,ā all Greene does is āCOMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!ā
The president referred to Greene as āwackyā and a ālunaticā in last weekās Truth Social post.
Greene cited Trumpās call for a Republican to step up and challenge her in a primary ahead of the 2026 midterm elections as part of the reason she decided to step down.

āI have too much self respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms,ā Greene said.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
