The Royal Family is preparing for a star-studded journey to the US to mark America’s 250th birthday next year – but California-based Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to be snubbed, multiple sources have revealed to US celebrity news site Page Six.
PrinceĀ William and Kate Middleton are anticipated to participate in the historic festivitiesĀ in July 2026 to honor the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, representing a significant milestone for both countries.
Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla have received an invitation to Washington, DC for a State Visit in April from President Trump – provided the 77 year old monarch’s health permits him to undertake the trip, officials disclosed to Page Six. It comes after Meghan Markle’s ‘awkward’ joke to Kate Middleton had an embarrassing response.
“We’re hoping all the senior royals will come over,” revealed a well-placed source. “This is going to be a huge year for both the US and the UK.”

Monarch celebrated at NYC birthday celebration amid 250th anniversary excitement, reports the Express.
The King, who recently marked his 77th birthday, was celebrated at an extravagant party in New York City last week, arranged by the British consulate. The gathering, held by JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon at the bank’s elegant new midtown headquarters, was filled with discussion about the forthcoming 250th anniversary arrangements.
Nevertheless, Montecito-based Harry and Meghan won’t make the guest list, as the source verified: “Obviously the Duke and Duchess of Sussex aren’t working royals, so they will not be invited to any celebrations.”

Despite their non-royal status, the celebrity duo still clings to their Royal titles. This was evident when a house manager introduced Markle as “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
The feud between Harry, 41, and his elder brother William is still very much alive, with the brothers not having spoken for over two years.
Even though Harry has expressed his wish to mend fences with his family, telling the BBC that he doesn’t want any more conflict and expressing concern about his father’s health, the fallout from his and Meghan’s explosive interviews, reality TV show, and tell-all book has left the royals wary of welcoming them back into the fold.
President Trump, on the other hand, hasn’t been shy about expressing his disdain for Harry and Meghan. When questioned about possibly deporting Harry due to his admitted drug use, Trump previously joked, “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.
Meanwhile, Charles is strengthening UK-US relations with an unprecedented second State visit.
In a demonstration of the growing bond between the UK and the US, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump received an extraordinary second State visit in September, featuring a state banquet at Windsor Castle where Trump sat beside a radiant Kate Middleton, whom he mistakenly called the Queen.
During the occasion, Charles praised Trump’s personal dedication to “finding solutions to some of the world’s most intractable conflicts,” highlighting the profound bonds between the two nations and the importance of preserving cultural, trading and military connections
“Our people have fought and died together for the values we hold dear,” the King proclaimed, reinforcing the special relationship between the two countries.
As the US prepares for its 250th birthday festivities, the Royal Family’s anticipated visit is poised to bolster the already strong ties between the two nations – but it appears Harry and Meghan will be observing from the sidelines.
