“The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert sent Swifties buzzing on December 9 with a surprise announcement just days ahead of the release of Taylor Swift’s six-part Eras Tour documentary series, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era.”
Colbert’s Exciting Announcement
Swift is returning to late night!
Colbert announced on social media that the singer will be making an appearance on Wednesday, December 10 in a playful reel of Colbert dancing to Swift’s “Opalite” from her newest album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” The clip ends with Swift in a cardigan saying, “Hey Stephen,” into the phone, a playful nod to her song of the same name off her “Fearless” album.
“Meet me at midnight (jk 11:35),” the caption of the post reads, which is another wink to her album “Midnights.”
How to Watch Taylor Swift on ‘The Late Show’

The “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airs at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS with episodes available to stream on Paramount+ the following day.
Swift Continues Her Late Night Tour
The singer’s appearance on Colbert’s “Late Show” marks her third U.S. late-night stop of 2025, according to USA Today.
Swift promoted “Showgirl,” her 12th studio album, on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
During her appearance on Fallon, the two covered her engagement to Travis Kelce as well as the meaning behind tracks like “The Fate of Ophelia” and even the racy “Wood” during a deep dive into her album which had the entire audience singing along to the lyrics. Fallon also handed Swift a list of rumors she had to confirm or deny, including whether she turned down the 2026 Super Bowl.
On “Late Night,” Meyers had Swift on as his one and only guest and praised the scale of her recent accomplishments, from topping Billboard to owning the global box office with her “Official Release Party” film. Swift brought the host homemade sourdough wrapped in bread-themed puns, explained how Kelce accidentally mixed up Greta Gerwig with Hugh Grant’s wife, Anna Eberstein, and recalled the time Zoë Kravitz had her snake escape in Swift’s home. With everything she has going on, Meyers had to ask: when does she even have time to sleep? To this, Swift claimed that she sleeps “a lot,” but only after her work is done.
