President Donald Trump reignited his feud with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, unleashing a series of attacks on social media after Kimmel criticized his poll numbers and mocked a recent White House dinner with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Trump’s rant
In a recent Truth Social post, Trump questioned why ABC continues to employ the comedian, writing, “Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air? Why do the TV Syndicates put up with it? Also, totally biased coverage. Get the bum off the air!!!”
The post came shortly after Kimmel used his Jimmy Kimmel Live! monologue to take aim at Trump over several topics, including the former president’s past associations with the late predator Jeffrey Epstein and his dwindling approval ratings.
Kimmel mocks Trump
During the monologue, Kimmel mocked Trump’s decision to host what he described as a lavish black-tie gala for the Crown Prince, saying, “They had a murderer for dinner at the White House last night. Trump hosted a black tie gala for the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, who also happened to be one of Jeffrey Epstein’s good pals. According to the writer Michael Wolff, Epstein and MBS, as they call him, were so tight they would play video games together for hours.”
Kimmel also displayed a poll showing only 38% approval for Trump’s performance in the White House, likening the dinner event to “an alumni dinner for the Legion of Doom.”
Kimmel’s show
The public clash adds to a long history of animosity between the two. In September, Trump celebrated when ABC temporarily suspended Kimmel’s show following comments the comedian made about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Trump posted at the time, “Great News for America: The ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible.”
Kimmel’s return
When Kimmel eventually returned to the air, Trump again lashed out at ABC, suggesting potential legal action.
“Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE. He is yet another arm of the DNC, and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution. I think we’re going to test ABC out on this. Let’s see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad Ratings,” he wrote.
