The Patriots are moving on from Stefon Diggs — and they may already have a replacement in mind.

Patriots Predicted to Replace Stefon Diggs With All-SEC Star in 2026 Draft
The New England Patriots could turn to the 2026 NFL Draft to replace star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
After releasing Diggs ahead of the new league year, New England suddenly has a major hole in its receiving corps heading into the 2026 season.
One recent projection believes the Patriots will address that need by drafting Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion with the No. 31 overall pick.

Diggs Leaves Big Production Behind
Diggs played a major role in New England’s impressive 2025 season.
The veteran receiver quickly developed chemistry with quarterback Drake Maye, helping lead the Patriots to:
- 14–3 regular-season record
- AFC East title
- Super Bowl appearance
During the season, Diggs led the team in every major receiving category:
- 102 targets
- 85 receptions
- 1,013 receiving yards
- 4 touchdowns
Replacing that level of production will not be easy.

KC Concepcion Emerging as Draft Target
According to draft projections, KC Concepcion could be the Patriots’ solution.
The Texas A&M standout earned First-Team All-SEC honors after an outstanding season with the Aggies.
His 2025 numbers included:
- 61 receptions
- 919 receiving yards
- 9 touchdowns
Concepcion originally began his college career at NC State, where he also impressed with 124 catches for 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns across two seasons.

Perfect Fit for Drake Maye
Analysts believe Concepcion’s skill set would pair well with Drake Maye’s strong arm.
His ability to separate from defenders and create big plays downfield could help replace some of the explosive production Diggs brought to the offense.
If selected, Concepcion would give the Patriots a young No. 1 receiver to grow alongside Maye as the team tries to return to the Super Bowl.

Patriots Facing Key Offseason Decision
New England’s offseason already includes several major roster moves, but wide receiver remains one of the biggest priorities.

With Diggs gone, the Patriots must decide whether to:
- Draft a young receiver early, or
- Add another veteran weapon in free agency
If the latest projections are correct, the answer may come in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
