Backstage chaos? Broken screens?
Cardi B says… not so fast.

Cardi B Responds to ‘SNL’ Backstage Meltdown Reports
Cardi B is brushing off reports that she had a backstage meltdown during rehearsals for her January 31 appearance on Saturday Night Live.
On February 25, TMZ published a report claiming the Grammy-winning rapper became upset during rehearsal after hearing that “Weekend Update” anchors had made a joke about longtime rival Nicki Minaj — a joke that was ultimately cut from the show.

According to TMZ’s unnamed sources, Cardi allegedly:
- Threatened to leave the set
- Threw her phone at a TV monitor
- Punched a screen until it broke
Cardi, however, appears completely unfazed by the claims.
Cardi’s Reaction: “Let Them Talk”
Taking to X, the 33-year-old rapper dismissed the story with a cryptic post:
“Hmmm all these little random stories… f–k it, let them talk, let them eat cake, let them come to the ballllll.”
She later responded directly to a fan who shared the TMZ article, writing:

“Now all of a sudden random stories coming out …like please.”
Cardi did not directly confirm or deny the specific allegations but made it clear she finds the timing suspicious.
The Nicki Minaj Factor
The rumored tension reportedly stems from Cardi and Nicki Minaj’s long-running feud.
After Cardi released her second studio album, Am I the Drama?, in September 2025, Minaj appeared to mock the project in a tweet parodying lyrics from Cardi’s song “Magnet.”
Cardi responded with multiple tweets, questioning why Minaj continues to compare their careers.
“You been in the game like 16 years,” Cardi wrote at the time.
“I was in high school when you came out… why you comparing yourself to me?”

The rivalry has simmered for years, and even an alleged joke referencing Minaj was enough to spark speculation.
What Actually Happened?
As of now:
- No footage has surfaced confirming a backstage incident.
- NBC has not publicly commented.
- The alleged joke never aired on the Jan. 31 episode.
Cardi performed two songs during the show — “Bodega Baddie” and “ErrTime” — without any visible issues.

The Bottom Line
Whether the meltdown happened or not, Cardi’s public stance is clear: she isn’t entertaining the narrative.
In the world of celebrity headlines, rumors move fast.

Cardi seems content letting people talk — while she keeps performing.
