Following the Toronto Blue Jays’ success in 2025, the team elected to exercise John Schneider’s contract option to bring back the manager for another year.

The Blue Jays have enjoyed a lot of success under Schneider, reaching the postseason in three of his four seasons as manager, and were mere inches away from dethroning the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.
Schneider boasts a 303-257 career record and is likely set to get paid when his contract is up next offseason.

Toronto has had a busy offseason, but still needs to address Schneider’s contract. Schneider gave a very blunt update when asked if he was in contact with the Blue Jays on a possible extension.

Schneider is one of the best managers in the league and nearly won the American League Manager of the Year award in 2025, finishing second in the voting.
Much of the Blue Jays’ success has been under Schneider’s guidance, so it’s a positive to see the team connecting with him on a possible extension.
