The Dodgers are headed to Washington, D.C. this season—but their White House celebration may have to wait.

Scheduling Conflict Could Delay Dodgers’ White House Visit Until Later in 2026
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ traditional championship visit to the White House may not happen when the team travels to Washington, D.C., this spring.
According to new reports, a scheduling conflict is likely to delay the visit, even though the reigning World Series champions have already accepted their invitation.

A Visit That Won’t Happen in April
The Dodgers will travel to Washington in April to face the Nationals, but the team reportedly will not make their White House appearance during that trip.
The news was first reported by Bill Plunkett of the Southern California News Group, who indicated that the team’s tight schedule prevents them from fitting the visit into their early-season itinerary.
However, the delay does not mean the Dodgers are declining the invitation from President Donald Trump.
Instead, the team is expected to reschedule the ceremonial visit later in the 2026 season.
Possible Date Emerging in July
According to the report, the Dodgers’ best opportunity may come in late July.

One idea would involve visiting Washington before their July 17–19 series against the New York Yankees, but that option could shorten the players’ All-Star break.
Because of that, the plan is considered unlikely.
A more realistic possibility could come July 23, when the Dodgers have an off day following a series in Philadelphia and before traveling to face the New York Mets.
That off day could provide a convenient window for the team to make the trip to the White House without disrupting their schedule too heavily.

Champions’ Tradition Continues
The Dodgers received their invitation after winning the 2025 World Series, their second championship in as many seasons.
White House visits are a long-standing tradition in American sports, with championship teams from major leagues typically invited to celebrate their titles.
In February, the New York Post reported that the Dodgers had already accepted the invitation.

Debate Surrounding the Visit
While the visit appears likely to happen eventually, the situation has sparked mixed reactions among some groups in Los Angeles.
Certain immigrant-rights organizations have urged the team to decline the invitation, citing concerns related to federal immigration enforcement activities in the region.
The Dodgers organization has not publicly addressed those calls directly.
For now, the team’s focus remains on logistics and scheduling rather than politics.
Dodgers Focused on the Season
As the reigning champions prepare for another competitive season, the White House ceremony remains a symbolic moment that could take place later in the year.

For now, the only certainty is that April will not be the moment the Dodgers make their trip.
Instead, the celebration honoring their latest World Series title may simply arrive a little later in 2026.
