Zohran Mamdani swept to victory in the New York Mayoral election, motivating tens of thousands of people with his promise of change for the city beset by social and economic problems.

Earlier this month, his team boasted over 50,000 people had applied to be part of his team, with applications still open for more people to apply.

It comes after Mamdani went head-to-head with Donald Trump in a surprisingly friendly meeting.

Key figures have already been appointed, including many seasoned political operators; however, the transition team states that applications are “open to all backgrounds and experience levels.”
Two significant senior leadership appointments were Dean Fuleihan, who previously served as the First Deputy Mayor and Budget Director under Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Elle Biasgaard-Church, who guided the campaign to a historic triumph in the primary.
Fuleehan was named his First Deputy Mayor, and Biasgaard-Church was appointed Mamdani’s Chief of Staff.
“We’re building an administration defined by excellence and a commitment to delivering on Zohran Mamdani’s affordability agenda,” said Elana Leopold, Executive Director of the Transition. “50,000 applicants are proving that they’re ready to help carry out this work across all levels of government. And these applicants make this movement, and this incoming administration, that much stronger.”

How to apply to join Mamdani’s Transition Team
Interested candidates can visit the transition website, which also gives visitors the option to apply.
Clicking through takes the eager individual to a statement inviting readers to submit their resume.

It reads: “Submissions will be added to our talent database and reviewed by the Transition Appointments Team as we identify candidates for roles across City agencies and offices.”
The next page is a portal where applicants can submit their personal information along with details of their experience, education and their resume.
The portal also requires applicants to identify their area of expertise and applicable skills.
