Jimmy Kimmel isn’t done yet! The late-night host, who was temporarily suspended by ABC in September, renewed his contract for at least one more season of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Kimmel reportedly announced the news to his staff on Monday, December 8, according to Bloomberg. With the contract extension, Jimmy Kimmel Live! will run through May 2027.
Shortly after news of the extension broke, Kimmel took to social media to share the news.
“I am pleased to announce another no-talent year!” Kimmel captioned the post, an apparent diss to President Trump, who has slammed the host throughout his second term.

ABC announced in September that it would be suspending Kimmel’s show indefinitely after receiving pressure from the FCC and station owners due to comments made during the host’s September 15 monologue were deemed controversial.
“I didn’t think there was a big problem,” Kimmel said during a Bloomberg Screentime event in Los Angeles on October 8, days after his suspension was lifted. “I just saw it as distortion on the part of some of the right-wing media networks, and I aimed to correct it.”
Prior to this season’s drama, Kimmel had been open about his desire to leave late night, telling LA Times in February 2024, “I think this is my final contract.”
“I hate to even say it, because everyone’s laughing at me now — each time I think that, and then it turns out to be not the case,” he said at the time. “I still have a little more than two years left on my contract, and that seems pretty good, that seems like enough.”

His contract was previously scheduled to end in May 2026.
