The Chiefs just added a powerful new weapon to their offense.
And Kenneth Walker III is already embracing the intensity that comes with playing in Kansas City.

Kenneth Walker III Reacts to Joining Chiefs, Praises Eric Bieniemy’s Coaching Style
KANSAS CITY — The Kansas City Chiefs made a significant addition to their offense in free agency by signing running back Kenneth Walker III, and the former Seahawks star already seems thrilled with the move.
Speaking at his introductory press conference, Walker revealed that Kansas City’s winning culture and coaching staff played a major role in his decision to sign with the team.
“Winning coaching,” Walker said. “Watching over the years, they’ve been to plenty of Super Bowls. They know how to win, so I felt like it’s a great fit for me.”

For Walker, joining one of the NFL’s most successful franchises in recent years represents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a championship-caliber team.
Chiefs Made Walker Feel Wanted
Walker also explained that the Chiefs’ strong interest early in free agency made the decision even easier.
Kansas City aggressively pursued the running back and ultimately signed him to a three-year contract worth up to $45 million, with $28.7 million guaranteed at signing.
That level of commitment made a strong impression on the player.
“It means a lot,” Walker said. “You feel appreciated and wanted — that’s what everybody wants.”
The 25-year-old now joins an offense led by Patrick Mahomes, with the goal of strengthening the Chiefs’ rushing attack.

Walker Impressed by Eric Bieniemy’s Intensity
During his press conference, Walker also spoke about his early impressions of Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.
According to Walker, Bieniemy’s coaching style is exactly what he hoped to find.
“He intense, yeah, yeah, yeah,” Walker said with a smile. “The more he talks about it, the more intense he gets.”
Rather than being intimidated, Walker said he appreciates that level of passion from a coach.
“It’s been cool,” Walker added. “You want a person like that who’s real passionate about the game.”
Walker Brings Proven Production

Walker arrives in Kansas City after a strong 2025 season with the Seattle Seahawks.
Last season he recorded:
- 1,027 rushing yards
- 5 rushing touchdowns
- 31 receptions
- 282 receiving yards
His ability to contribute both as a runner and receiver makes him a versatile addition to the Chiefs offense.
A New Weapon for Kansas City
Kansas City has consistently fielded one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses under head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Adding Walker gives the team another dynamic playmaker who can keep defenses honest and add balance to the attack.
For Walker, the opportunity to contribute to a winning organization was simply too good to pass up.

Now the running back is ready to get to work — and embrace the intense culture that has defined the Chiefs’ success.
