Three blockbuster possibilities.
One franchise-changing decision.
And the Patriots may be just one move away from a Super Bowl push.

Patriotsā Final Missing Piece? A.J. Brown, Maxx Crosby or Stefon Diggs Could Change Everything
The New England Patriots have already made major moves this offseason. But the biggest question hanging over Foxborough isnāt about what theyāve doneāitās about what they might do next.
After a busy free agency period that brought in players like Romeo Doubs, DreāMont Jones, Alijah Vera-Tucker and Kevin Byard, Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf says the team is satisfied with its progress.
But he also made something very clear.
The Patriots are not done looking for upgrades.

āWeāre always open to trying to improve the team any way we can,ā Wolf said. āIf we see something out there that we think can help us out, weāll look into it.ā
And that statement has fueled speculation around three massive possibilities.
A.J. Brown. Maxx Crosby. Or a reunion with Stefon Diggs.
Each option could dramatically reshape the Patriotsā rosterāand potentially their Super Bowl hopes.
Option 1: The Game-Changer ā A.J. Brown

Among the rumored targets, A.J. Brown may be the most exciting.
The Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver remains one of the most dominant playmakers in the NFL. At his best, Brown can take over games from anywhere on the field.
Pairing him with newly signed Romeo Doubs could instantly transform the Patriotsā offense.
Suddenly, quarterback Drake Maye would have a dangerous one-two punch at receiverāsomething the team has lacked in recent years.
Brown is also younger than Stefon Diggs and still firmly in his prime. His physical style and ability to win contested catches make him one of the most feared receivers in football.
The price tag, however, is steep.
Philadelphia reportedly wants a first- and second-round pick for the All-Pro wideout. That cost might drop to a second- and fourth-round pick if the deal happens after June 1, when the Eaglesā salary cap situation improves.

For the Patriots, the question is simple:
Are they willing to waitāand pay the priceāfor a true No. 1 receiver?
Option 2: The Defensive Monster ā Maxx Crosby
If offense isnāt the answer, the Patriots could look to dominate on defense instead.
Enter Maxx Crosby.
The Las Vegas Raidersā star pass rusher is one of the most disruptive defenders in the NFL. Adding him would instantly elevate New Englandās pass rush, an area that struggled last season.
Patriots legend Rodney Harrison has already publicly advocated for the move.
āThe Patriots need difference makers,ā Harrison said. āThatās how you get to the promised land.ā
But acquiring Crosby comes with complications.

The Raiders recently had a trade agreement with the Baltimore Ravens fall apart, reportedly tied to concerns about Crosbyās injury status. That uncertainty could make teams hesitantāor create an opportunity for New England if the price drops.
Either way, Crosby would instantly give the Patriots something they currently lack: a dominant edge rusher capable of wrecking offenses.
Option 3: The Familiar Option ā Stefon Diggs
Then thereās the possibility of bringing back a familiar face.
Stefon Diggs, recently released by the Patriots, is still a productive receiver despite entering the later stages of his career.
Last season he led the team in receiving with:
- 85 catches
- 1,013 yards
- 4 touchdowns
A reunion would also be the cheapest option, since it wouldnāt require surrendering valuable draft picks.
However, Diggs would likely return in a smaller role, especially with Doubs now in the mix.
The question becomes whether the Patriots want stabilityāor a bigger splash.
Why A.J. Brown Might Be the Best Move
While all three options could improve the roster, thereās a strong argument that the Patriots should prioritize helping Drake Maye above everything else.
The young quarterback already looks like the future of the franchise.
Giving him elite weapons may be the fastest path to turning New England into a true contender again.
Adding A.J. Brown alongside Romeo Doubs could create the type of explosive offense capable of keeping pace with the leagueās best teams.

And in todayās NFL, elite quarterbacks surrounded by elite playmakers tend to win championships.
The Patriots have already rebuilt much of their roster.
Now the question is whether theyāre willing to make one final blockbuster move to complete the puzzle.
