The late-night shows have their Thanksgiving plans in order, but only some are bringing viewers along to the party.
Just one show will maintain its regular programming through holiday week—but we’ll still be getting a decent helping of new late-night episodes, including on Thanksgiving Day itself.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Daily Show are dark all week, with CBS airing repeats in the show’s 11:35 p.m. time slot. (Comedy Central will be airing other programming—Family Guy and South Park reruns—in place of The Daily Show.) Both shows are scheduled to return with new episodes on Monday, December 1.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Kimmel Live! plans to produce new episodes on Monday and Tuesday. Kimmel and his team will then take the rest of the week off.
It will largely be business as usual on NBC, with Late Night with Seth Meyers cranking out new episodes all week long—including on Thanksgiving Day—and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airing new episodes Tuesday through Thursday. Fallon’s show will be dark Monday night, with NBC airing a repeat of the most recent Sunday night episode from last week.
Fallon’s Thanksgiving night episode will see the host welcome a trio of high-profile guests for what is traditionally the show’s highest-rated episode of the year thanks to its NFL football lead-in. Ed Sheeran, Stranger Things star Joe Keery, and Brad Paisley are all set to appear with Fallon. (Their appearances on the show were pre-taped last week.)
Meyers, meanwhile, is set to once again welcome his family as guests for Late Night’s Thanksgiving episode. He’s interviewed brother Josh and parents Hilary and Larry every Thanksgiving episode since he began hosting the late-night show in 2015, making this the 11th year of the tradition.
NBC’s even dropping a little something extra in the middle of the week. On Wednesday’s Thanksgiving Eve, take a trip back through SNL past with the two-hour SNL Thanksgiving special, A Saturday Night Thanksgiving.
