Taylor Swift’s influence reaches far beyond the music industry.
Now, an NFL star is sharing a personal moment that shows just how memorable meeting her can be.

Former Chiefs Star Trent McDuffie Calls Taylor Swift a “Very Special Woman”
Former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie recently shared a heartfelt story about meeting pop superstar Taylor Swift, describing the singer as someone who left a lasting impression on him.
During an interview with ESPN LA, the 25-year-old NFL player recalled his first interaction with Swift while he was still teammates with Travis Kelce in Kansas City.
“She is a very special woman. Down to earth, genuine,” McDuffie said.
A Moment McDuffie Won’t Forget

McDuffie admitted he felt a bit nervous the first time he met Swift, but the singer quickly made him feel comfortable.
According to the Rams cornerback, Swift greeted him warmly, even surprising him with how much she already knew about him.
“I remember when I first met her there was a little bit of nerves, but she gave me a big hug,” McDuffie said.
“She knew my name, knew my position, knew football.”
That level of awareness stunned the young defensive back.
“I was like, ‘Wow, this is for real. This is a moment I’ll remember forever. Me and Taylor Swift just actually having a normal conversation.’ It was really cool.”
Chiefs Connection Through Travis Kelce

McDuffie and Swift crossed paths thanks to her relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The cornerback played alongside Kelce in Kansas City from 2022 through the 2025 season before being traded to the Los Angeles Rams earlier this month. Shortly after the move, he signed a four-year, $124 million contract extension.
Although he no longer shares a locker room with Kelce, McDuffie said he still holds a lot of respect for both the Chiefs star and Swift.
Swift and Kelce’s High-Profile Relationship
Swift first appeared at a Kansas City Chiefs game in September 2023, sparking massive attention from both NFL and pop culture fans.
However, the singer later clarified that the relationship had already begun before that game.
“By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” Swift said in a previous interview with Time.
“I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game.”

Since going public, Swift has attended multiple Chiefs games, including two Super Bowl appearances.
Engagement and Future Plans

After two years together, Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in 2025, making them one of the most talked-about celebrity couples in sports and entertainment.
Kelce has previously spoken about how Swift’s relentless work ethic motivates him to stay focused on his own career.
“We share the same love for what we do,” Kelce said on The Pat McAfee Show.
“It’s amazing to see her keep finding new things to write about and still have that joy in what she does.”
For McDuffie, though, the takeaway from meeting Swift was simple.

Even one of the biggest stars in the world can still make a normal moment feel unforgettable.
