Among the most notable developments are the promotion of Zak Kuhr to defensive coordinator and the repositioning of longtime defensive leader Terrell Williams, who will now serve as assistant head coach.

Terrell Williams Takes on Key Leadership Role
Terrell Williams had previously served as the Patriots’ defensive coordinator, but his responsibilities will now expand in a broader leadership role.
As assistant head coach, Williams is expected to assist Vrabel with both team management and defensive strategy.
Vrabel emphasized that Williams will remain heavily involved in shaping the defense while also helping oversee the broader operation of the team.

Jonathan Decoster joins as offensive line assistant, bringing more than a decade of coaching experience. Before arriving in New England, he served as assistant offensive line coach at Florida and previously worked with the Cleveland Browns as an offensive assistant and quality control coach.
B.J. Edmonds has been hired as a defensive assistant. A former Arkansas State cornerback, Edmonds previously worked on defensive staffs at Kansas Wesleyan, Utah State, and Duke. He had briefly accepted a running backs coaching position at Southern Miss before joining the Patriots organization.
Charles London arrives as an offensive analyst, bringing extensive NFL experience. London previously worked under Mike Vrabel with the Tennessee Titans, serving as quarterbacks coach and pass-game coordinator in 2023. He has also coached quarterbacks for the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets.
His familiarity with Vrabel’s coaching philosophy could help strengthen communication on the offensive side of the ball.
Three Coaches Depart the Staff
The new additions come following the departure of three members of last season’s coaching staff.
The Patriots will move forward without:
- Assistant offensive line coach Robert Kugler
- Defensive assistant Milton Patterson
- Senior defensive assistant Ben McAdoo
