The Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl champions — but that success comes with a cost.
Heading into the 2026 NFL Draft, Seattle has one of the smallest draft hauls in the league.

Seahawks’ 2026 NFL Draft Picks Officially Set
The Seattle Seahawks’ draft order for the 2026 NFL Draft is now official, and the defending champions will head into the event with just four total selections.
Seattle spent the early part of the offseason keeping key players on the roster, including wide receiver Rashid Shaheed and cornerback Josh Jobe, which limited the team’s need to chase major free agents.
But their limited draft capital is the bigger storyline.
Seahawks’ 2026 Draft Picks
Seattle currently holds the following picks:
- Round 1: No. 32 overall
- Round 2: No. 64 overall
- Round 3: No. 96 overall
- Round 6: No. 188 overall
As Super Bowl champions, the Seahawks will select last in the first round — a typical position for title winners.

Why Seattle Has So Few Picks
Seattle’s limited draft stash is largely due to a midseason trade for wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.
The Seahawks sent their 2026 fourth- and fifth-round picks to the New Orleans Saints to acquire Shaheed.
Considering Shaheed’s impact during Seattle’s championship run, the trade is widely viewed as worth it.
In fact, many believe the Seahawks might not have won Super Bowl LX without his explosive playmaking ability.
The Cost of Winning

While trading away picks can feel insignificant at the time, the consequences become clear when draft season arrives.
Seattle now enters the draft with only four selections, which is below their usual number.
Still, Seahawks fans are unlikely to complain.
Trading two picks for a player who helped deliver a Super Bowl trophy is a deal most teams would make without hesitation.

Expect John Schneider to Get Creative
Even with limited draft capital, Seattle general manager John Schneider has a reputation for being aggressive during the draft.
It would not be surprising to see Seattle:
- Trade down to acquire more picks
- Package picks to move up for a target player
- Use trades involving veterans to gain extra selections
Schneider has successfully maneuvered through draft weekends with limited capital before.

In fact, 2021 saw Seattle draft only three players, the lowest total during his tenure.
One Pick Came Through a Past Trade
Seattle’s sixth-round pick (No. 188) came from the Cleveland Browns.
The pick was acquired in a 2024 trade where Seattle sent center Nick Harris and a 2026 seventh-round pick to Cleveland in exchange for the sixth-round selection.
It’s currently their only late-round pick.
What the Seahawks Need
Even after winning the Super Bowl, Seattle still has areas it could address in the draft:
- Offensive line depth
- Defensive line rotation
- Secondary depth
- Developmental quarterback or linebacker
With only four picks, every selection will carry extra importance.

But if recent history is any indication, Schneider may find a way to turn four picks into many more before the weekend is over.
