When we first got the listings for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for the week, there wasnât a mention of anyone on Thursday, Dec. 4. When this has happened in the past, the episode hasnât been new.
Well, there is some great news tonight. There will be a new episode. It just took CBS time to get the listing up, and part of that will be linked to booking the guests. Look, the celebrities are busy people, and it takes time to make sure the schedules align, especially when it comes to promotion.Jen Psaki In Conversation With Lawrence O’Donnell | Dia Dipasupil/GettyImagesWhen we first got the listings for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for the week, there wasnât a mention of anyone on Thursday, Dec. 4. Who will be on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight?
The Thursday, Dec. 4 episode will feature two celebrities. The first is Jen Psaki, the former White House Press Secretary, who served under both the Obama and Biden administrations until May 2022.
She now hosts the MS NOW talk show Inside with Jen Psaki, and she has also started hosting The Briefing with Jen Psaki, continuing her coverage of American politics. So, itâs not that surprising that Colbert, who regularly shares his thoughts on the current state of the union, has her on as his guest.
The second guest of the night is âWeird Alâ Yankovic, an American comedy musician and actor. There is plenty for him to discuss, including his time on The Naked Gun movie and his upcoming tour in 2026. Heâll also be involved on the Jimmy Fallonâs Holiday Seasoning Spectacular on NBC, so he may mention something about that.2025 Thundergong Benefit Concert | Fernando Leon/GettyImages
You can watch the new episode tonight, Thursday, Dec. 4 at 11:35/10:35c on CBS. You can also stream the series the following day if you donât feel like staying up late, and donât forget that a lot of the show is put on the official YouTube channel.

The Late Show will likely be a rerun on Friday
As of right now, there isnât a set guest list for Friday, Dec. 5. Itâs possible that weâll get another rerun on the night. We tend to see all the late night shows go into reruns on Friday nights.
There should still be at least one more week of new episodes of The Late Show on CBS. Itâs unclear how much further into December the show is going to go. While primetime will run new episodes until Friday, Dec. 19, thatâs unlikely for this late night show due to costs and interests, so weâre probably set to see one more week.
