Seattle, Washington — The Seattle Seahawks could soon face one of the biggest decisions of their offseason as star running back Kenneth Walker III prepares to enter free agency.

Fresh off a Super Bowl MVP performance, Walker is expected to draw strong interest across the NFL when the free-agent negotiating period begins.
A Championship Performance
Walker played a crucial role in Seattle’s 29–13 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX, delivering a dominant performance on the biggest stage.

The 25-year-old running back finished the game with:
- 27 carries
- 135 rushing yards
His performance helped power the Seahawks’ offense and cemented his place as one of the league’s rising stars at the running back position.
Another 1,000-Yard Season

Walker also enjoyed another productive regular season in 2025.
He rushed for 1,027 yards, marking his second 1,000-yard season since entering the NFL.
Those accomplishments—combined with his postseason heroics—have strengthened his bargaining power heading into free agency.
Estimated Market Value
According to contract valuation site Spotrac, Walker’s estimated market value for 2026 sits around $9 million per year.

His rookie contract, a four-year, $8.44 million deal, is set to expire this offseason.
The Seahawks also chose not to place the franchise tag on Walker before the March 3 deadline, which means he will be free to negotiate with any team.
Interest Around the League
Walker is already drawing attention from multiple teams.

Reports indicate that the New York Giants are among the franchises interested in potentially signing the dynamic running back.
Starting March 9, Walker will officially be able to negotiate with all 32 NFL teams when the league’s legal tampering period begins.
A Critical Decision for Seattle
Seattle must now decide whether to commit significant resources to re-signing Walker or risk losing one of the key players who helped deliver the franchise’s latest championship.
With backup running back Zach Charbonnet recovering from a torn ACL, Walker’s future becomes even more important to the Seahawks’ offensive plans.

If Seattle hopes to keep its explosive rushing attack intact, bringing Walker back could quickly become one of the team’s top offseason priorities.
