LOS ANGELES — Kelsey Plum delivered a scorching performance from deep, knocking down six 3-pointers on her way to 28 points as the Los Angeles Sparks powered past the Chicago Sky 91–78 on Sunday, snapping a three-game losing streak and reclaiming momentum early in the season.
The win marked just the second of the year for Los Angeles (2–3), and its first since an opening-night victory over the expansion Golden State Valkyries. This time, it was Plum’s shooting and Azura Stevens’ season-best 24 points that fueled the turnaround.

Odyssey Sims added 12 points, while Dearica Hamby continued her all-around brilliance with 10 points, six rebounds, eight assists, and a career-high six steals — anchoring a Sparks team eager to regain its footing.
Chicago (0–3) remained winless despite another strong effort from rookie standout Angel Reese, who posted 13 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Kamilla Cardoso added 12 points on efficient shooting, and veterans Courtney Vandersloot and Rebecca Allen each scored 11.

The turning point came early in the third quarter when Stevens drilled a 3-pointer to give the Sparks a 51–48 lead — an advantage they would not relinquish. Minutes later, another Stevens triple sparked a 9–0 surge, stretching the margin to 15 and putting the pressure squarely on Chicago.

Reese led a late rally, helping the Sky cut the deficit to 76–71 with just over seven minutes remaining. But the Sparks responded immediately: Sarah Ashlee Barker hit a jumper, Stevens scored twice inside, and Plum buried a pull-up jumper to restore a double-digit cushion and shut the door on Chicago’s comeback hopes.
