Paris was shaken tonight when an unprecedented tragedy occurred right in the heart of the city of light. Thousands of spectators, scientists, politicians and international media gathered at the Palais des Congrès de Paris to listen to Elon Musk – the billionaire famous for his crazy ideas about artificial intelligence – present his vision of the future. But in the blink of an eye, the technological dream turned into a collective nightmare.

According to witnesses at the scene, when Musk was standing in the middle of the stage giving a speech about “artificial intelligence surpassing humans”, unusual crackling sounds rang out from the ceiling lighting system. Just a few seconds later, the entire giant steel dome began to shake violently. A deafening explosion resounded, accompanied by electric sparks bursting like fireworks. And then, the steel roof weighing several tons collapsed with a loud bang, swallowing the entire stage where Elon Musk stood.

“People screamed hoarsely, the smoke and dust filled the air, I saw people running and trampling each other to escape. Chairs were broken, the sound of crushed metal drowned out the fire alarm. Elon was still there, trapped in the center of the collapse…” — an international reporter with tears in his eyes recounted.
The Paris fire department and police arrived after only 5 minutes, but the scene was like a battlefield: paparazzi flashbulbs continuously flashed in the thick smoke, people’s screams echoed throughout the hall. The police immediately blocked off, pushing the desperate crowd of reporters and fans out, while the rescue team used metal cutters to urgently find a way in.
The ambulance siren blared, a series of paramedics rushed in to drag the injured out. A middle-aged woman was placed on a stretcher, her face pale, her mouth constantly shouting: “He’s still inside, please save him!” The medical staff hurriedly performed chest compressions, blew oxygen, the heart monitor flashed red in alarm.
A source from the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital revealed that Elon Musk was found after more than 20 minutes under a pile of steel, his body covered in blood and unconscious. Doctors performed CPR at the scene, giving him multiple electric shocks before taking him to the ICU. “His heart stopped beating three times in half an hour. We did everything, but his condition was extremely critical,” a doctor sighed.
The normally sparkling Paris night turned into a tragic drama. Outside the hospital, hundreds of people gathered, lit candles, held white flowers, and chanted “Stay strong, Elon!” Many fans covered their faces and cried, social media exploded with the hashtags #PrayForElon and #GoodbyeMusk spreading globally in just a few minutes.
International politicians, from French President Emmanuel Macron to US President Joe Biden, sent their condolences. Macron wrote on X: “Paris will always remember this night, where the dream of technology was tested by human tragedy.”
Meanwhile, global media continuously opened live news: CNN, BBC, Reuters, AFP simultaneously ran the headline “Elon Musk in Critical Condition After Paris Stage Collapse.” Many analysts said that this event could cause a chain shock to the entire world technology industry.
Not stopping there, the double tragedy continued to happen: while the rescue team was setting up a scaffolding to clear the pile of steel, a part of the roof suddenly collapsed, seriously injuring a firefighter and trapping three more spectators. The chaos intensified, the police had to increase hundreds of officers to control the crowd.
Tonight, Paris did not sleep. Musk’s ICU was lit up with cold lights all night, the monitor rows beeped continuously, doctors took turns giving electric shocks, injecting adrenaline, trying to hold on to fragile life. “We are not giving up,” the head of the intensive care unit declared, his voice trembling.
All over the world, from New York to Tokyo to São Paulo, millions of people held vigils. The Tesla statue in California was covered in white flowers. In Berlin, thousands of SpaceX engineers dressed in black, silently mourned.
And then, at 3 a.m. in Paris, the official announcement was made: Elon Musk had died. Doctors confirmed permanent cardiac arrest, resuscitation efforts failed. The whole world was plunged into mourning.
The last image from the hospital was a line of people holding candles stretching for miles, the American and French flags and the SpaceX flag covered in white flowers. People called it “The Night of Paris” — a night that not only took a life, but also shook faith in the future of technology.
