The screech of broken glass echoed through the mountains and forests of China, and in the blink of an eye, the giant glass suspension bridge broke in two. Beneath the feet of hundreds of visitors, the glass cracked, dust flew everywhere. And at the center of the tragedy, Elon Musk – the famous technology billionaire – disappeared from sight, plunging down a deep ravine more than 300m. “I heard a loud scream and then saw him disappear like a streak of light falling into the abyss,” a shocked local witness recounted.

The scene immediately fell into chaos. Fans screamed, some people ran to the edge of the abyss regardless of the danger, calling Musk’s name in despair. Paparazzi and tourists hurriedly raised their cameras in trembling voices, flashing in the smoke and dust. Security forces set up barriers to prevent the crowd from jostling, causing dozens of people to fall down, some fainting on the spot.
Emergency rescue teams rushed in. Cables, stretchers, and high-powered spotlights were lowered down the steep cliff. The sound of helicopters hovering overhead drowned out the screams. After nearly an hour of tension, paramedics pulled up a stretcher covered in mud. On it, Elon Musk’s body was motionless, his face pale and dusty, blood smeared all over his shirt. “He has no pulse, his heart has stopped,” a doctor at the scene whispered, tears welling up. CPR and electric shocks were performed right at the edge of the cliff, but the monitor only emitted cold alarm beeps.
The ambulance siren blared through the forest, taking Musk to the nearest hospital. The ICU was lit up all night, the medical team took turns giving electric shocks, chest compressions, and adrenaline injections. But the heart monitor did not waver. At 2:45 a.m., the head of the emergency department bowed his head: “He cannot be saved.” Elon Musk was declared dead, the bad news spread outside, causing the crowd of fans to collapse right in the hospital.

The world was shocked. The Musk family rushed to China, their faces covered in tears. The US government immediately issued a special statement, calling it “an immeasurable loss to humanity.” Tech CEOs shared memorial photos. On social media, the hashtags #PrayForElon and #GoodbyeElon exploded, tens of millions of shares overloading the platforms.
The grief did not stop there. While fans gathered to pray on the collapsed bridge, a remaining part of the railing collapsed, causing nine more casualties. The rescue helicopter had to return again, the double incident making the atmosphere even more gloomy.
That night, along the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, New York, Paris, and Berlin, tens of thousands of people poured into the streets to light candles. Seas of white flowers, Musk’s portrait, and tears sparkling under the candlelight made the scene of grief spread globally. An era was buried in the cold ravine, when Elon Musk – who once dreamed of building an empire on Mars – ended his journey in the abyss.
