The LA Sparks Forward is now an official Wilson Athlete.

Already established as a versatile player and a contagiously positive teammate, Azurá Stevens continues to make a name for herself in basketball and beyond, most recently by joining Wilson’s Basketball Family. The LA Sparks Forward was a member of the 2021 Chicago Sky Championship team and was the 6th overall draft pick in 2018.
Stevens was named to the 2018 WNBA All-Rookie team and has continued to level up on the court, reaching 1,000 career points against New York on July 29th. The UConn alum will join other masters of the game in the Wilson Basketball Family playtesting products, providing feedback, and collaborating on the next generation of basketball gear.
Learn more about how Stevens has established herself as one of the top players in the WNBA and her advice for overcoming setbacks as an athlete.

Wilson: What does the expression “Bonded by Ball” mean to you?
AS: Bonded by Ball means connection through the game of basketball, through playing the game of basketball. I have met some of my best friends and created some of the greatest memories with them on and off the court.
Wilson: When was your first “I made it” moment?
AS: My first ‘I made it’ moment was hearing my name called at number 6 in the WNBA draft. It was always a long-term dream of mine to become a professional basketball player, so hearing my name at the draft was truly my dreams turning into a reality!
Wilson: What has been your favorite country you have traveled to?
AS: Spain! The food was delicious, the weather was so nice. I got to swim in the Mediterranean Sea and the people there were so warm and inviting!
Wilson: What advice do you have for athletes who endure setbacks in their careers?
AS: My advice is to keep going. There will be times where it seems as if there is no light at the end of the tunnel, but things will turn around for you if you persevere through whatever comes your way.
Wilson: What advice do you have for athletes hoping to reach this level?
AS: My advice for athletes hoping to reach this level is to stay in the gym and always believe in yourself. You want to make sure you are ready for any opportunity you are given and that’s done by working on your craft. A lot of the professional level is mental, and you have to believe in YOU more than anyone else.

Wilson: How can people embody Wilson’s motto “live like an athlete?”
AS: By creating daily habits that will lead to their personal growth, like some form of daily exercise and fueling their body throughout the day with healthy foods.
Wilson: What is your hype song to get you ready for a game or practice?
AS: I have a few. March Madness by Future, Breathe Deeper by Tame Impala, Itty Bitty Piggy by Nicki Minaj.
Wilson: What is your game day routine?
AS: Wake up, drink my daily smoothie/eat a light breakfast, shootaround, cook myself a nice pregame meal which is usually pasta or a salmon bowl, watch a little tv, then pregame nap, then get up, pick out my fit, and head to the gym!
Wilson: What would your pet say if they could talk?
AS: Franklin would say thank you to all the fans who support him.
Wilson: Favorite concert?
AS: Tame Impala
