Crockett recently shared her views on Doge, Elon Musk and Donald Trump during an appearance on The View; in January, she and Mace had a public argument that resulted in her receiving a threatening call
In a recent appearance on ABC’s morning TV show The View, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett shared her opinion of President Donald Trump’s return to the Oval Office, saying, “Soon you will understand why it’s important to maybe have someone that isn’t loud and ridiculous and maybe sleepy Joe is what we wanted because we could at least sleep at night.”
She continued her thoughts, telling the show’s panel, which includes Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin, “My takeaway is just like the election: we’ve got to do better at education.

“People don’t understand, but you will understand when those hospitals in rural America start closing down even more,” Crockett continued, adding that Americans will reap what they sowed when they lose Social Security and Medicare, and experience further air-traffic security problems under Trump’s administration.
Here’s everything to know about Jasmine Crockett.
Jasmine Crockett is a lawyer and politician

Jasmine Crockett, 43, was born in March 1981 in St Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Rhodes College, Memphis, in 2003 with a BA in business administration, according to her biography. She later pursued a career in law and graduated from the University of Houston Law Center with a Juris Doctor degree in 2006. After passing the bar, she served as a public defender in Bowie County, Texas, from 2007 to 2010.
Crockett served in the Texas state House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023 and has served as the US Representative for Texas’ 30th Congressional District since January 2023.
She’s criticised the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge)

In an exclusive interview with The Root, Crockett gave her take on the role of the Doge in the Trump administration.
“First of all, it’s not a real thing. Department of Education, real. USAID, real. Department of Veteran Affairs, real. These are real places and buildings and there’s legislation that created them,” she said. “And then you have a guy that walked in and was like, ‘I’m just going to create this out of thin air.’”
She went on to say that her real concern is that no one knows what Doge is really doing.
“The subcommittee was created by the Republicans to give Marjorie [Taylor Greene] a perch so she can seem serious. But we had a hearing and nobody from Doge was there,” she said. “What we’re seeing right now is that they are exceeding the authority that any single person has, including the president of the United States.”
She called Donald Trump and Elon Musk “idiots”

In a recent interview with MSNBC host Ali Velshi, Crockett told Elon Musk to “come through, boo” after he failed to show up at Doge subcommittee meetings.
She went on to discuss how Musk and Trump perpetuated a “false narrative” that former president Joe Biden spent millions of dollars sending condoms to Palestinians and Hamas members in Gaza.
“It’s not even just nonsense, it’s just that they’re idiots,” Crockett said, adding, “I don’t know how anyone in this country can look at this administration and feel some semblance of any type of confidence, right?”
She proceeded to accuse Musk of lining his pockets in his new position. “Elon doesn’t want us talking about the fact that he has received almost a billion dollars in new contract money from the US Government in just two weeks,” Crockett said.
Her public fight with congresswoman Nancy Mace

During her appearance on The View, Crockett also spoke about her public spat with Nancy Mace, a Republican South Carolina representative, which occurred during a meeting of the House Oversight Committee in January.
During a discussion about trans rights, Crockett quipped, with reference to Mace, “Somebody’s campaign coffers are struggling right now. So she gon’ keep sayin’ ‘trans, trans, trans’ so that people will feel threatened and chile, listen – ”

Mace interrupted Crockett, saying, “I’m no child! Do not call me a child! I’m no child. Don’t even start. I’m a grown woman. I’m 47 years old. I’ve broken more glass ceilings than you ever have.” The heated exchange escalated quickly, with Mace apparently spoiling for a fight. She ended her tirade by telling Crockett, “If you want to take it outside, we can do that.”
On February 21, Crockett wore a hoodie with a definition of the African-American vernacular “chile” – “used to refer to any person(s) generally , while expressing annoyance” – and a dig at Mace in an appearance on The Breakfast Club podcast hosted by DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God.

On The View, Crockett revealed that the confrontation continued when she received a threatening phone call. “There was actually someone who works for another sitting member of Congress that called from that congressional office to our office to try to basically say, ‘Yeah, I want to put money on this, I want them to go outside,’” Crockett told the hosts.
“It is threatening and I don’t care what side of the aisle you come from, but it should never be OK for a staffer – and it wasn’t OK for her [Mace], either,” Crockett added.
