Toronto’s star first baseman also was recognized as MLB’s inaugural Entertainer of the Year.

Blue Jays fans know Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as an all-star performer, a superstar side of the 26-year-old that was on display during the team’s recent, exhilarating run to the World Series.
They also know him as being wildly entertaining, an athlete who plays the game with flair and talent combined.
Those two aspects of the face-of-the-franchise first baseman were honoured on Thursday night, when Guerrero was named to the all-MLB first team while also being recognized as the inaugural entertainer of the year.
The all-MLB squads are split into a first and second team with a selection at each position. Guerrero was named in the first baseman slot while Bo Bichette was named to the second team at shortstop.
Fitting those two were united, given how they have been the cornerstones of the franchise as they have developed together in the Toronto farm system and later with the Jays in the big leagues.
Later in the season, Guerrero was named an all-star for the fifth time in his career and, in the Jays wild post-season run, was voted ALCS MVP after leading his team to a seven-game series win over the Seattle Mariners.
While he has been an American League all star on those five occasions, this is Guerrero’s third first-team All MLB selection.
Bichette, who is now a free agent, rebounded from a rough 2024 season with a stellar 2025 campaign that saw him record 181 hits with a .311 batting average. His three-run homer in the third inning of Game 7 of the World Series looked like it might hold up to give the Jays their third championship until the Dodgers rallied late to win in 11 innings.
As for the Entertainer of the Year Award, a new honour debuted by MLB this season, the recognition of Guerrero speaks to his popularity around baseball, not just in Toronto. His regular appearances in all-star games and as a two-time Home Run Derby participant, Guerrero certainly is flashy and, yes, entertaining, as he goes about his stellar play.
