Megyn Kelly has claimed that the latest update in the Epstein files doesn’t “sound good” for Donald Trump after he was named in emails allegedly written by Jeffrey Epstein.
On November 12, House Republicans released 23,000 pages of documents from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein after months of delays. The documents include Epstein allegedly mentioning Trump by name several times in private emails in the last 15 years of his life.
The emails included Epstein claiming Trump had spent significant time with a woman who Democrats on the Oversight Committee described as a “victim” of Epstein’s sex trafficking.
Trump has always denied any wrongdoing relating to the Epstein case, has not been accused of any crimes by law enforcement, and has never been identified as the subject of any investigation.

Speaking about the update on The Megyn Kelly Show, the 54-year-old political commentator said, “The Democrats are now salivating over the latest releases. My overall take on this is, why didn’t Trump just release these? Just release them! Just release them!

“Right, now he’s in a position of being singled out as the only one, allegedly, as opposed to one of a slew of names. The Democrats, of course, are gonna make a ton of hay over it.”
She went on to say, “I concede that they sound bad, they don’t sound good. If I were a Democrat, I could easily make some hay with these, which they will.
“They won’t be doing fair and balanced reporting on these over on MS or CNN etc. Right, so it’s like, to me, these is a self-infliceted wound by the Trump administration.”

Following the release of the documents, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the emails were “selectively linked” to the “liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.”
“The ‘unnamed victim’ referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions,” she said.
Leavitt referenced the redacted name in one of Epstein’s messages to longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell. The Oversight Committee redacted the name to protect the victim’s privacy.
“The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre,” Leavitt continued.

“These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again.”
Republicans on the House Oversight Committee also released a statement, writing on X: “Why did Democrats cover up the name when the Estate didn’t redact it in the redacted documents provided to the committee?
“It’s because this victim, Virginia Giuffre, publicly said that she never witnessed wrongdoing by President Trump. Democrats are trying to create a fake narrative to slander President Trump. Shame on them.”
