Comey Defies Death: Former FBI Director Faces Trump in Bloody Power Game?
Washington never sleeps, but last night, the lights of the US capital were as bright as a stage of death. James Comey – the former FBI Director, who once held the biggest secret in the US – officially declared to the public that he was “not afraid” when facing the heavy indictment backed by the Justice Department under Donald Trump.
The air was thick with the smell of smoke from hundreds of television cameras, the screams and sirens echoed in the streets, signaling a battle that was not only legal but also political, even life-and-death. People call this “a bloody game of power” – where each chess piece turned over is a secret that can shock the whole of America.
The unexpected turn and the public declaration of war
Comey, in the video posted on his personal Instagram, did not tremble, did not dodge. He said:
“We will not live on our knees. Dictators use fear as a weapon. But I am not afraid.”
The statement immediately exploded like a spark in a barrel of gunpowder. Many people compared him to a man standing before the gallows, still holding his head high, challenging those who want to overthrow him.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump, from the social network Truth Social, shouted triumphantly:
“Comey is a dirty cop! He lied – a simple but dangerous lie. He will pay a heavy price!”
Two fierce waves crashed into each other: on one side was the image of a man “walking to his death without bowing his head”, on the other side was the growling voice of the former President affirming “the game is over”.
Washington scene: Tense as a string
Immediately after the indictment, the street leading to the federal courthouse in Virginia was tightly blocked. Riot police were on duty, television cameras surrounded, hundreds of people shouted slogans. Someone shouted:
“Comey is a hero!”
“Trump wants to hide the truth!”
In contrast, the crowd of Trump supporters shouted:
“Put him in jail!”
“Justice must be paid in blood!”
The red and blue lights of police cars illuminated tense faces, including children held on their parents’ shoulders. Reporters described the scene as a “frontline battle,” where America looked in the mirror at itself – divided, chaotic and on fire.
Two opposing views
- Belief in a dark conspiracy
Some analysts believe that the Comey accusation is just the tip of a huge iceberg. “Someone is pulling the strings, and Trump is just a mouthpiece,” whispered an anonymous source from within the FBI. According to them, the reason the case was reopened on the fifth anniversary of the testimony to Congress was no coincidence.
They ask: Who benefits from Comey’s downfall? And more surprisingly: why was the case assigned to a judge appointed by Joe Biden? Is this a trap, a double act, with the puppet masters standing behind the curtain laughing coldly?
- The deniers: “It’s all hype”
Trump supporters, on the other hand, say there’s no conspiracy. “Comey lied. Period. It’s a crime,” Kash Patel, the current FBI director, said emphatically. They see Comey’s self-proclaimed “fearlessness” on social media as a show to draw sympathy.
In this view, the “deep state” is just phantom threats to hide a simple truth: a high-ranking official was caught lying to Congress.
Ghosts of the past return
What makes the case more dramatic is Comey’s past baggage. He was the one who led the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, and he was also the one who initiated the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 US election.
