Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Friday she has asked Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton to oversee a Justice Department’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein‘s ties to prominent Democrats and financial institutions.

Yesterday, President Donald Trump directed the FBI and the justice department to launch a probe into former president Bill Clinton, Democratic donor and LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, and Clinton-era treasury secretary Larry Summers, saying: “This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, with all arrows pointing to the Democrats.”

Calls are growing for the full release of the Epstein case files after a new cache of documents from the late sex offender’s estate reignited controversy over Trump‘s past connections to him.

Trump has been pulled deeper into the scandal since the release of several Epstein emails by the House Oversight Committee Democrats that mentioned the president, including a reference to him as the “dog that hasn’t barked.”

The White House has said the emails were “selectively leaked” to “liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump,” while Trump himself accused Democrats of “trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax.”
