After a dominant performance at Barclays Center, New York Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello and stars Jonquel Jones and Emma Meesseman shared their thoughts on the team’s convincing victory over the Washington Mystics.
The Liberty came out strong, showing poise and precision on both ends of the floor. Jonquel Jones, who powered the team with her trademark energy and inside presence, praised the group’s chemistry. “We played connected basketball tonight,” Jones said. “Everyone trusted each other, and that’s when we’re at our best.”
Head coach Sandy Brondello echoed that sentiment, emphasizing how balance and focus led to the win. “We executed our game plan beautifully,” Brondello explained. “The players communicated well, defended hard, and made smart reads — that’s the Liberty basketball we’re proud of.”

Emma Meesseman, who continues to make a strong impact after joining the lineup, highlighted the team’s growth and mental toughness. “It’s not just about scoring,” she said. “It’s about how we respond when the game gets tough — and tonight, we stayed composed.”

The win further solidifies New York’s status as a championship contender, with the team firing on all cylinders as the postseason approaches.
