George Clooney and Adam Sandler stayed mum when asked about Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban‘s split at the Jay Kelly premiere in New York City on Monday.
The screening for the motion picture at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall was held just hours after news broke that A-list celebrity couple were separating after 19 years of marriage.
Sandler, 59, told the DailyMail he was not aware that the couple had parted ways, explaining, ‘I don’t know any of that [news].’
Meanwhile Patrick Wilson, 52, told the DailyMail he had just learned of the news.
‘I’m finding that out right now. There you go,’ he said. ‘It’s awful.’
Seemingly avoiding not addressing it specifically, he deflected, asking, ‘Oh I mean… What do you think of it?’

The big star of the night, Clooney, 64, did not address the news either. His publicist instructed reporters to only ask questions about the movie.
Both Clooney and Sandler were accompanied to the premiere by their wives.
The silver fox beamed next to wife Amal Clooney, 47, who put on a leggy display in a red mini dress. The duo have been married since 2014.
Meanwhile Adam was joined by wife Jackie Sandler, 51, whom he’s been married to since 2003.
Nicole and Keith split after a 19-year marriage and two children, the DailyMail can confirm.
The Oscar winner, 58, and the musician, 57, have been kept apart of late amid their hectic filming and touring schedules – with an insider saying Kidman was left ‘blindsided’ by the split.
The source said: ‘Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour. There was a lot of love between the two and they might not divorce, but there is a world that they both live where neither of them are in it.
‘Keith and Nicole have been together for decades and there is a world which they can reconcile, but the way their pairing is now, it is not a couple.’

Meanwhile the storyline of Clooney’s latest film, Jay Kelly, according to a synopsis from Netflix, focuses on ‘famous movie actor’ Jay played by the actor.
He ’embarks on a journey of self-discovery, confronting his past and present with his devoted manager Ron,’ played by Sandler, the streaming service said.
Noah Baumbach directed the motion picture, which also stars Laura Dern, Riley Keough, Isla Fisher, Louis Partridge, Patrick Wilson and Billy Crudup.
Clooney’s chat with the DailyMail about his collaboration with the writer-director Baumbach, a four-time Oscar nominee.
‘It was interesting because you know, he sent me the script and said, “I wrote it with you in mind,” and then I read it,’ the Ocean’s Eleven star said. ‘I was like, well, it, “It’s such a wonderful part,” and I knew immediately before I read it, I thought I was going to do it.’
The Oscar-winning Syriana actor related his own Hollywood experience to the character he played in the film.
‘I also felt like how lucky I was that I didn’t live with the kinds of regret that this character does,’ Clooney said.

The Academy Award-winning actor said that he had a different perspective on what it takes to reach the top after doing so when he was older.
‘I chalk it up to the fact that I got famous much later in life,’ Clooney said, ‘and so I was a little more balanced and understanding how little success has to do with you.
‘Because you know, when you’re young and you get success, you just think you’re a genius; you get older, you think, well, luck played a big part in it.’
Clooney chat about his professional chemistry with Sandler: ‘I’ve known Adam a long time and he’s a dear friend, and the minute we knew we were going to get a chance to work together, we were thrilled.’
Clooney added of the Uncut Gems star: ‘It’s just fun to work with a guy who’s, you know, he’s a beautiful actor, he’s a wonderful comedian and he’s just a great soul.’
Jay Kelly is scheduled to arrive in select theaters November 14 followed by a Netflix release on December 5.
