Shared tweet: “The earth trembles when God is angry”
Trump White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday shared a social media post suggesting that an Utah earthquake was a divine sign tied to the assassination MAGA activist Charlie Kirk. Leavitt remarked, “Wow” and reposted a tweet that noted a 4.1 magnitude quake shook Utah the same day Kirk was shot.

The tweet took 4.1 and covered it to “40” and “41″ suggesting the magnitude meant “trials” and signified a “shift.” The tweet then highlighted the earthquake’s time stamp of 5:57 p.m. local time.

That was then correlated to 7:57 p.m. Eastern time which was linked to Acts 7:57, a passage in the Bible which describes the martyrdom of Stephen, a Christian in the early church. The tweet stated that “the Bible says the earth trembles when God is angry” and framed the quake a divine symbol: “as a voice was silenced, the ground groaned.”
A 4.1 magnitude earthquake did occur in Utah that evening, though in a different part of the state. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake’s epicenter was in the Uinta Basin in Uintah County and occurred in the early evening, approximately 150 miles from Utah Valley University where Kirk was shot around midday.
A few months ago, Leavitt suggested that evil spirits maybe have been behind technical difficulties surrounding a phone call between Trump and MAGA faith leaders.
