Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman isn’t just making headlines on the mound—he’s also a devoted husband and proud father of two daughters, Sadie (6) and Sutton (4). Kevin and his wife Taylor, both 34, tied the knot in 2016 during his time with the Baltimore Orioles, and since then, they’ve navigated the highs and lows of a professional baseball career together.
Kevin has played for multiple teams, including the Orioles, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, and San Francisco Giants, before signing a five-year, $110 million contract with the Blue Jays in December 2021. When deciding on Toronto, Kevin cited the organization’s family-friendly culture as a major factor: “I’ve been with five teams now. They’re the best I’ve been with. One thing we cared about was what they would do for families,” he told MLB.com.
Taylor has been by his side through every move, often sharing their family milestones on social media. She described their 2016 wedding as “the most beautiful, fun, and memorable day” and has expressed how being married to a professional athlete is, at its core, just like any other marriage. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Sadie, in 2019 and celebrated her sixth birthday this year with heartfelt posts highlighting her personality and growth. Their second daughter, Sutton, arrived in 2021, and Kevin regularly shares moments of joy and pride with both girls, including touching tributes for National Daughters Day.
Fatherhood has also given Kevin a new perspective on baseball and life. “It puts more perspective into my life in general,” he said. “It’s hard not seeing our kids very often, and it’s especially hard on our wives… The biggest thing it helped me with is to realize that this is just a game.” Despite a demanding travel schedule, Kevin’s devotion to his family is clear: “I can’t imagine my life without the endless love that I get from the two of you. I am so lucky I get to be your dad!” Taylor often shares her own pride and joy with captions like “Daddy’s girls .”
