Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) is turning a hateful attack into a moment of sharp wit and empowerment. Days after far-right agitator Laura Loomer called her a “ghetto Black b****” and a “racist hood rat,” the first-term congresswoman delivered a pointed clapback that had her audience in stitches.
Speaking at an event during Congressional Black Caucus week in Washington, D.C., Crockett reminded the crowd that she’s not only unbothered but thriving.
“I know that some think that I am, you know, younger than I am…but just so y’all know, I am 12 years older than Laura Loomer,” Crockett, 44, told the audience, referencing Loomer’s age of 32.
The crowd roared with laughter and applause before Crockett added the knockout punch: “And to be clear, there is no Botox.”
Her comment, widely shared on social media, drew even more attention because of long-running speculation in tabloids and blogs about Loomer’s alleged use of cosmetic procedures.
Background of the Feud

The exchange stems from Crockett’s recent remarks on CNN’s State of the Union, where she criticized white Democrats for overwhelmingly supporting a resolution honoring conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot earlier this month. While 58 Democrats opposed the measure, Crockett noted that nearly all were lawmakers of color—only two white Democrats, Reps. Seth Moulton (Mass.) and Mike Quigley (Ill.), voted against it.
Her comments struck a nerve with Loomer, who lashed out online with the racial slur, igniting swift backlash. Civil rights advocates and political commentators condemned Loomer’s words as part of a broader pattern of racist attacks targeting Black women in public office.

Crockett’s Rising Voice
Crockett, who represents Texas’ 30th Congressional District, has quickly made a name for herself as a bold, unapologetic voice on Capitol Hill. A former attorney, she has earned attention for her pointed questioning in hearings and her willingness to call out systemic inequities.
Her sharp response to Loomer highlights both her resilience and her ability to redirect hostility into a moment of strength—a skill many of her supporters say is precisely why she has become a rising star in progressive politics.
The Bigger Picture
The clash underscores the ongoing hostility Black women in leadership face, particularly when they speak openly about racial divides in politics. For Crockett, however, the moment also reaffirms her refusal to be silenced.

With laughter and confidence, she reminded the room—and her critics—that she is not only surviving in Washington but shining.
