It’s not often that TODAY co-host Jenna Bush Hager leaves audiences speechless — but her recent revelation about her marriage did exactly that. The daughter of former President George W. Bush, known for her humor and honesty, surprised fans when she admitted that she doesn’t mind — and sometimes even enjoys — when other women flirt with her husband, Henry Hager.
During a candid “Girl Code” segment alongside Hoda Kotb, Jenna responded to a viewer worried about a friend who constantly flirted with her husband. While Hoda was quick to call that behavior off-limits, Jenna’s answer shocked everyone.
“This may be weird,” Jenna admitted, “but sometimes I like it when people flirt with Henry.”
The comment left Hoda — and much of America — momentarily speechless. When pressed for an explanation, Jenna laughed and added, “I don’t know, I’m just like, ‘Baby girl still got it!’” She went on to clarify that her confidence comes from feeling secure in her marriage: “I’m very secure in our relationship. So, I’m like, ‘Oh, there you are.’”

It’s a refreshingly self-assured perspective that instantly became a viral moment — a playful glimpse into the quiet confidence behind their 15-year marriage. Jenna even confessed that she doesn’t mind when Henry flirts back — within reason. “If it’s a very small amount, I find it attractive,” she said with a smile. “He wouldn’t do it a lot.”
For longtime fans, Jenna’s response fits perfectly with her easygoing, grounded personality. Her love story with Henry began in 2004, when he worked as a deputy operations manager on her father’s re-election campaign. Sparks flew, but not without a few surprises along the way. Jenna famously revealed that she was the first to propose — just three months into dating — after “a few cocktails.” Henry, ever the gentleman, turned her down at the time, telling her she was too young.
Three years later, he would be the one to get down on one knee — after nervously seeking President Bush’s permission at Camp David. Jenna later shared how her future husband even read the Bible beforehand to prepare for the conversation. “He had a seven-point plan of why he wanted to marry me,” she recalled with a laugh. “My dad said, ‘Henry, I already said yes — you don’t need to go through anything else.’”

The couple married in a private ceremony in May 2008 at the Bush family ranch in Crawford, Texas. Today, they share three children — Mila, Poppy, and Hal — and a marriage built on humor, trust, and deep affection.
Jenna’s openness about her relationship — from its awkward beginnings to her unorthodox views on trust — offers something rarely seen in public marriages: vulnerability without fear. She’s not threatened by outside attention; she’s reminded of what she already has.
And that’s what makes Jenna’s confession so endearing. It’s not about jealousy — it’s about confidence, love, and the quiet power of knowing you’ve already won the heart that matters most.
