Jenna Bush Hager didn’t want to leave anyone out on her special day — and it doesn’t seem like she did!
On Friday, Nov. 14, the Today with Jenna & Friends co-host admitted while talking with guest co-host Leslie Bibb, that she had a total of 19 bridesmaids at her 2008 wedding to Henry Hager.
After Bibb, 51, asked her how many bridesmaids she had, Bush Hager, 43, replied, “Way too many. Too many.”
Noting that only her twin sister, Barbara Bush Pierce, stood up at the altar with her for her big day, the TV personality went on to reveal that she had a total of 19 bridesmaids.
The confession caused Bibb’s jaw to drop along with several off-camera members of Bush Hager’s staff.
“Y’all! Don’t judge. Look at everyone’s faces. That’s a room full of shame,” Bush Hager said, pointing to her co-workers.
“That’s not shame,” Bibb stammered, before admitting, “That is… that is shame.”
“That’s disgust!” Bush Hager said.
Bibb said that 19 was possibly the largest number she’d ever heard, noting, “I don’t think I’ve ever known anybody to have [that many].”
As for what the women had to wear, Bush Hager said, “I let them pick their style. I let them do everything,” Bush Hager said. “And by the way, they didn’t have to stand up there.”
Bush Hager added that her staff weren’t the only ones to throw shade. Her 12-year-old daughter, Mila Hager, recently weighed in on her bridesmaids’ fashion.
The daughter of former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush said her bridal gown was designed by Oscar de la Renta, and she kept the sketch of the dress in her bathroom, as well as the sketch for the bridesmaids’ dresses and the fabrics.
“Mila goes, ‘You had them all wear those?’ I was like, ‘Yeah,’ she was like, ‘That’s a choice,’ ” Bush Hager quipped of her eldest daughter.

Back in 2023, Bush Hager told then-co-host Hoda Kotb that her bridesmaids wore “a rainbow of colors — like blue and purples and spectrum” adding that “no dress was the same.”
During the same episode, Bush Hager also shared that rather than have traditional bridesmaids, she embraced the Southern tradition of including a “house party” on her special day.
“I didn’t actually have bridesmaids. I had my sister stand up there,” she explained. “I had what was called a house party, so people who stand at the front who are my friends. But not the whole thing.”

Bush Hager married her husband on May 10, 2008, at the Bush family’s Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas. They share three children, Mila, 12, Poppy, 10, and Hal, 6.
