The ladies of The View looked back on former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi‘s legacy after the Democrat announced she will not be seeking re-election after her current term.
Each of the hosts took turns praising Pelosi, even Alyssa Farah Griffin who admitted Pelosi is not someone she can “agree with on everything.” But Joy Behar praised the House Democrat for her public feud with President Donald Trump.
“She was really Trump’s chief tormentor and I give her credit for that,” Behar said. “She went after him. Remember when she tore up the State of the Union?”

Behar then shared the statement Trump made to Fox News’s Peter Doocy. “The retirement of Nancy Pelosi is a great thing for America. She was evil, corrupt, and only focused on bad things for our country. She was rapidly losing control of her party,” Trump said, later calling Pelosi a “highly overrated politician.”
Behar reminded the audience, “This is the president of the United States speaking about a colleague whose husband was banged over the head with a hammer by who knows who,” referring to the 2022 attack when a man broke into her San Francisco home and attacked her husband with a hammer, leaving him with a fractured skull.
“It just shows you how threatened he was by her,” Behar said of Trump.
Pelosi, 85, will retire after completing what is now her 19th term in Congress serving part of San Francisco. She is the first woman ever elected to serve as speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Sunny Hostin then interjected to note Pelosi recently had her own choice words to share about the president: “He’s just a vile creature, the worst thing on the face of the earth,” Pelosi said on CNN.
“She gives it back,” Hostin commented approvingly.

Griffin, who previously worked in the White House during President Trump’s first term in office, shared that she admires “the hell out of” Pelosi.
“There’s not a better vote counter,” she said of the politician, who she noted was also gifted in corralling “confidence” and knew “how to win an election.”
“She has had tremendous victories over the years for House Democrats,” Griffin said. “I think it’s incredibly big shoes to fill… I really do admire her.”
As for Pelosi’s possible replacement, the ladies speculated that honor could go to Pelosi’s daughter, political strategist Christine Pelosi, or Hakeem Jeffries.
