LA Sparks rookie Cameron Brink is grateful for support from veteran Dearica Hamby
Much like how she guides her children, Dearica Hamby is doing the same to LA Sparks rookie Cameron Brink as she works her way around the WNBA. It is something that the Stanford standout is very grateful for.
The second overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft, Brink claims to be in a learning phase, thanks to the support she is getting from her veterans like Hambry, whom she considers a second mom.
Speaking to The Sporting Tribune right before the WNBA started, the 22-year-old forward-center spoke of her relationship with Dearica Hamby,
“She’s like my second mom already…. She has given me a lot of advice. One is not let anyone see me cry. She also said just enjoy it and lean on your vets.”

The Sparks are currently sporting a 2-4 record and is set to next play on Thursday against the Chicago Sky (2-3) in Wintrust Arena in the Windy City.
