Kate Middleton and her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, had a magical experience over the weekend when they visited the set of the highly anticipated Harry Potter television series. While Prince William was in Scotland visiting King Charles, Kate and the kids enjoyed a private tour of the set on Friday, September 26. According to a source who was on set during the royal visit, it was a special and memorable moment for the family. “Kate and the children met the young actors and the director on the set. There was only one night of filming there, so it really was a magical ticket.”

This visit marked a full-circle moment for Kate, who, more than a decade ago, shared a Harry Potter experience with Prince William and Prince Harry. On April 26, 2013, the three royals attended the official opening of the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and toured the Making of Harry Potter exhibit, which showcased the iconic costumes, props, and sets from the original film series. At the time, Kate, pregnant with Prince George, marveled at the exhibit alongside her husband and brother-in-law. The studio, originally a World War II-era aerodrome, now serves as the home base for the upcoming Harry Potter TV series, which is being produced for HBO.
During their visit in 2013, Prince William jokingly told the media, “Harry’s just excited to see a real-life talking owl. I haven’t told him yet that Harry Potter is actually fictional, so please don’t let the secret out just yet.” At the time, the royal trio had fun exploring the magic of the Harry Potter universe, with Kate even taking a closer look at Hagrid’s costume. It was an extra special moment for the future Princess of Wales, given her pregnancy with Prince George.

Now, years later, Kate took her own children to experience the world of Harry Potter on set. The Harry Potter TV series, currently in production for HBO, is expected to span seven seasons, with each season representing one of J.K. Rowling’s books, from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Alongside their tour, Kate and her children had the opportunity to meet the new cast of the series, including Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley), and Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger). Other stars of the series include John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), and Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid).

With the new series set to bring Harry Potter to a new generation, HBO’s Casey Bloys expressed excitement about the opportunity to introduce Hogwarts to audiences in a fresh and dynamic way. The television series is slated to premiere in early 2027, bringing the magic of Harry Potter back to life on TV for fans around the world. For Kate and her children, it was a magical visit that not only celebrated the world of Harry Potter but also provided a full-circle moment in their own royal journey.
